In Loving Memory of John Guerrina: A Father, Friend, and Leader
The Ability family is devastated by the loss of John Guerrina, vice president of Ability Health Services & Rehabilitation. John was with our team when we opened our doors in 2002 and for nearly 20 years he helped us open 25 clinics throughout Central Florida impacting the lives of hundreds of A-team members, patients, partners, friends and families.
John was not only a leader within our team, he was a friend to everyone.
He will be extremely missed by his A-Team family.
He started his career as an intern under the direction of Mark Tracey and graduated from the University of Florida in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. He also attended the University of Central Florida and Stetson University for post-Baccalaureate Education in the field of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. In 1997, John earned national certification as an Athletic Trainer through the NATA. During the next several years, John had the opportunity to serve as the director of Marketing, Director of Sports Medicine and Clinic Manager. In 1999, he served as Area Manager for a National Rehabilitation Company in Florida. During this period, John assisted in opening 32 clinics in the state of Florida between 1999 and 2002.
In June of 2002, in conjunction with longtime associates, John created Ability Health Services, Inc. Since that time and to present, he has served as Vice President of AHS. He served as a Sports Medicine and Healthcare Consultant for Seminole and Volusia County School Board, on the Board for Seminole High Health Academy, and was a member of NATA. John was responsible for the overall daily operations, facility management, contract negotiations, employee recruitment and retention, risk management, and Marketing as the Vice President as well as the organization’s Corporate Compliance Officer.
John is survived by his two children, Austin and Jewel.
